Why is East Austin appealing to Investors?

Once regarded as a less-than-desirable place to buy and live, East Austin has undergone a radical transformation over the past 15 years and now is one of the city’s most coveted areas. The redevelopment of Robert Mueller Municipal Airport into the mixed-use urban village of Mueller, includes Residence Inn by Marriott, Dell Children’s Medical Center, Austin ISD Performing Arts Center, Pecan Street Demonstration Lab, Home Depot, the flag-ship H-E-B grocery store, new shopping centers other major chain employers, as well as eclectic eateries.

Properties are varied as well from classic bungalow single-family homes, duplexes, and four-plexes built in the 1930s – 1970s, to the newer condos, single-family homes, and apartment buildings.

A new mixed-use development is also in the works for this part of the city, bringing with it a 94,500 square foot office building and more than 340 new apartment units, combined with 9,600 square feet of retail space.
