Austin & Surrounding Area School Districts

There are many top-notch schools in Austin as well as the surround communities. The below list is but a few of the independent school districts in and around Austin.  Please feel free to go directly to The Texas Education Agency website.

Austin ISD
Austin ISD educates approximately 84,000 students and embraces 130 diverse school communities.

Bastrop ISD
The Bastrop Independent School District is located approximately 30 miles southeast of Austin in the picturesque Lost Pines of Central Texas. The district boundary covers an area of 433 square miles and includes the communities of Bastrop, Cedar Creek, Red Rock, Rockne, Paige and vast rural areas of Bastrop County.

Del Valle ISD
Del Valle ISD is located in Southeast Travis County and serves the communities of Austin, Garfield, Creedmoor, Mustang Ridge, Elroy, Pilot Knob, Webberville, and Hornsby Bend. Del Valle ISD serves over 11,000 students on 15 campuses.

Eanes ISD
Eanes ISD serves an estimated 2,400 students enrolled in 9 schools.

Georgetown ISD
Georgetown ISD serves 10,600+ students at 16 schools, and 2 alternative campuses.

Hays CISD
Located in North Central Hays County, the Hays Consolidated Independent School District reaches more than 221 square miles. The district’s 22 campuses are located throughout northern Hays County, serving nearly 18,000 students.

Hutto ISD
Located 7 miles east of IH-35 on Highway 79, Hutto Independent School District enrolls 6,000 students in 7 schools.

Lake Travis ISD
The Lake Travis Independent School District serves the growing area of Lake Travis, located approximately 20 miles west of Austin, Texas. District enrollment 8,300 students in eight campuses.

Leander ISD
Leander Independent School District educating more than 36,000 students at its 39 campuses. The district encompasses nearly 200 square miles.

Manor ISD
Manor Independent School District encompasses approximately 100 square miles and includes addresses in Austin, Manor, and Elgin, Texas. It serves over 8,600 students at 12 school campuses, and one alternative academy.

Pflugerville ISD
Pflugerville ISD serves approximately 23,000 students in 29 schools and two alternative schools.

Round Rock ISD
Round Rock ISD is located in southern Williamson County and northwest Travis County and includes the City of Round Rock and portions of the City of Austin and the City of Cedar Park. The area covers 110 square miles. Roughly 47,500 students attend 48 schools, and two alternative learning centers. Enrollment grows by nearly 1,000 students per year.
