The high school, initially private and named Round Rock Institute, opened in 1867. It’s noted for its award-winning band, drumline and computer science team. Private schools in the area include a 6-mile drive to Round Rock Christian Academy (PK-12) and an 11-mile drive to Concordia High School (9-12).
