Summercrest is a lovely and affordable neighborhood just 2 miles east of Historic Downtown Georgetown in Williamson County’s 78626 zip code. Summercrest is a beautiful community that was built in the early 2000s. Summercrest is perfect for someone wanting a moderate size house without a large front yard to upkeep. Summercrest developed between 2001 to 2005 with 1 and 2-story brick, stone, and siding residences that range in size from 1,500 to over 3,300 square feet. Interiors of these 3 and 4-bedroom homes vary, but many have open concept kitchens that flow into family rooms with fireplaces. Some homes have formal areas while others are more casual or have flexible spaces or built-in desk for a home office. Master bedroom suites include a large walk-in closet and tiled bath. Residents of Summercrest homes find the traditional architecture is enhanced by arched windows, covered entries, and attached 2-car garages. Most homes have fenced backyards with plenty of space for a game of catch, a garden, or to run around with the family pet. Georgetown, Texas is a city about half an hour north of Austin. Home to about 50,000 residents, this picturesque town is located between the waters of the North and South San Gabriel Rivers and near the hills of central Texas. Georgetown is known as the “Red Poppy” capital of Texas for its splendid display of red poppy wildflowers each spring, and an annual Red Poppy Festival in April attracts up to 30,000 visitors. Georgetown has a significant historical presence in terms of buildings, with much Victorian commercial and residential architecture. University Boulevard and only a mile east of Southwestern University’s Georgetown Campus. Southwestern University, which is Texas’ oldest university, founded in 1840. The town itself was founded in 1848.

The city of Georgetown has a vast array of amenities that attract residents to the area. The Georgetown Recreation Center, with sports, fitness and aquatics programs, is within 3 miles of the neighborhood. The Williams Drive Pool, for swim team or splashing, is a seasonal outdoor pool only 4 miles away. Lake Georgetown, 7 miles away, has fishing, camping, and trails along the water at Cedar Breaks Park. The Texas Recreation & Parks Society named San Gabriel Park a Lone Star Legacy park in 2012. It houses concerts, festivals, and sporting events, and it is home to the Georgetown Community Center. The city offers an extensive list of parks to be enjoyed year round.

 

Schools

Georgetown ISD serves students living in Summercrest. Purl or Williams Elementary (K-5), Tippit Middle (6-8), and East View High (9-12) are the assigned schools for this community. Area private schools include St. Helen Catholic School (PK-8), Community Montessori School (PK-6), and Primrose School of Georgetown (Infant-PK).
