Gracywoods Homes For Sale

Gracywoods

Experience

Gracy Woods is a quiet, suburban neighborhood in far north Austin. The homes are modestly sized, 1970s style, single-family houses on large lots, the streets are clean and shady, the area is safe and peaceful, and the community is close-knit. Many younger families, as well as seniors, live here. The Austin Community College Northridge Campus is a relatively recent addition to the area and adds a student population to the neighborhood.

The residents treasure their green spaces and local parks, including Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park, Gracywoods Park, and the North Star Green Belt, and miles of hiking and bike trails. The abundant green space and local schools make this area family-friendly. The people also value the closeness to nature and wildlife, and in fact there is a webpage devoted to the neighborhood environment and wildlife sightings.

The neighborhood association is active and sponsors annual events including a Fourth of July parade, picnic, and holiday lighting contest. Although the neighborhood is residential, there is shopping and dining just to the north on Parmer Lane.

The neighborhood is bordered by I-35 and Hwy. 1 (MoPac), so commuting by car is easy and downtown is about 20 minutes' drive. The high-tech employers of north Austin can be reached by bike from the neighborhood.

Schools

Pillow Elementary School, the Burnet Middle School, and the Anderson High School. For the PISD system, the schools are the River Oaks Elementary School, the Westview Middle School, and the John B. Connally High School.
